Photographing the amazing statues at Caesars Palace
I am currently updating my website to place more of an emphasis on glamour and boudoir photography and not specifically on my overall love of photography. Although I enjoy photographing landscapes, flowers, and cityscapes, that is not the focus of my business. Therefore I have removed the Las Vegas gallery folder.
These Las Vegas photos still hold a special place in my heart so I decided to share some of my favorites to this blog post. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them.
These three photos were taken at The Forum Shops located inside of Caesars Palace. If you have never been to Las Vegas or inside of Caesars Palace, The Forum Shops is basically a high-end shopping mall located inside of a casino. These photos are of some of the statues located inside. It is pretty hard if not impossible to tell that these photos were taken inside of a mall.
First is my favorite, Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of Love. I truly love how the colors came out in this shot. I find the dark blue sky and gold tones in the statue stunning.
Next is a photo of Zeus, King of the Gods, ruler of Mount Olympus, and the God of Thunder. I actually have this image displayed on a 16x20 canvas print inside of my studio. This shot looks amazing enlarged. The small details in this photo really pop out at you when it is BIG.
Finally, we have Artemis, Greek Goddess of Hunting. I wanted to process all of the statue shots differently. I chose to do HDR on this one. High Dynamic Range, or HDR, allows a greater dynamic range between the lightest and darkest areas of an image. This final image is actually a combination of five different photos. The colors in an HRD image are overly exaggerated for an artistic effect. As you can see, I held nothing back.
I will be posting a few more Las Vegas photos in a new blog post very soon.
