A beauty photo shoot with the lovely ladies of La Femme Zahir, A belly dance troupe in Las Vegas
Last week I had the opportunity to do a beauty photo shoot with the gorgeous ladies of La Femme Zahir. They are a newly established belly dance troupe here in Las Vegas.
The troupe features the diverse talents of Marlenny Maktub, Iris, Lōwish, and Gaby. Together they have over 20 years of dance and performance experience. The dancers create unique performances which draw from their varied backgrounds in Middle Eastern dance, Flamenco, and other Latin and Ethnic Dances. La Femme Zahir is sure to enchant any audience with their undulating hips, sassy spirit, and skillful execution. The photos above and below are of Gaby working her hips to her belly dance music.
On the day on the shoot I was notified by Iris that there will be five females coming to my studio instead of the four previously planned. That was not a problem for me, but when she mentioned that the fifth female was a snake, I was a little freaked out.
Marlenny Maktub posed with the snake, Rapunzal. Although Rapunzal was was a little camera shy, she held still long enough for me to capture this great shot.
Lōwish has been belly dancing for three years and says belly dancing gives her the confidence to go into the world, look people in the eye, and speak her truth.
"When I dance, I connect with my inner fire and illuminate the expression of my spirit", Lōwish said. I asked her how belly dancing makes her feel beautiful, she replied, "Beauty has to always come from the inside. I am at my most beautiful when my heart is aflame with love".
Iris has been belly dancing for four years and enjoys belly dancing because it is calming, relaxes the soul, and allows her to connect to the world.
Iris finds beauty in love and is passionate about dancing.
I had an amazing time photographing the ladies from La Femme Zahir. Thanks again.
